Warner Bros. announced that their upcoming Minecraft movie will be released on 25 May, 2019. The release will coincide with the 10 year anniversary of the video game franchise. A risky birthday, as the film will have to compete with Avengers : Infinity War Part II and Star Wars: Episode IX.
Roy Lee (The LEGO Movie) will produce, with Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) in the director's chair.
The film will be released in 3D and IMAX.
