Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich in Penguins of Madagascar

DreamWorks Animation's famous Madagascar franchise is set to have a spinoff feature based on the Penguins characters. And today brings us a pretty impressive announcement.

The Penguins of Madagascar already have their own TV show on Nickelodeon, but DreamWorks also has a movie in the works. The big news of today is about the voice cast, as two renowned actors have been chosen to portray new characters on the spinoff film.

John Malkovich will apparently voice a charming villain, while Benedict Cumberbatch, of Sherlock/Star Trek/The Hobbit fame has signed on to be an animal CIA agent chasing after the bad guy. No word yet on what that animal will be.

The Penguins of Madagascar is directed by Simon J. Smith (the Bee Movie perpetrator), slated for a 27th March, 2015 US release and sounds more exciting than ever today.
