Charlie Kaufman (writer of Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…) has written and directed a stop-motion film called Anomalisa, which tells the story of Michael Stone, an author of books on customer service who's unable to connect to people. Watch the trailer below.
The lighting and general look are gorgeous (even if you could argue the realistic appearance of the characters ventures a bit into the uncanny valley), and if the critics quoted on this trailer are to be believed, Anomalisa will be a dense, complex and one-of-a-kind theatrical experience.
The film will have a limited release in the US on the 30th December, 2015 and will open in UK theaters on the 11th March, 2016.
