'The Peanuts Movie' Launches Four Character Posters

Well! Here comes ol' Charlie Brown! Here are four character posters for the upcoming Blue Sky Studios / 20th Century Fox Animation's The Peanuts Movie. You can see the Lucy, Snoopy and Linus posters below or by visiting Yahoo! Movies, where the pictures debuted.

As you can see, and just like it's been the case since the first teaser was released, The Peanuts Movie is a very faithful adaptation of the beloved Charles M. Schulz comic strip.

Here's the official plot synopsis: Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest.

The 3D CG movie will open later this year; on 21st December in the UK / 6th November in the US. It's directed by Steve Martino (Horton Hears a Who!Ice Age: Continental Drift) with a story by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano.

  1. At first I was cautiously optimistic about a computer animated Peanuts movie, but now I'm very happy with the character designs and the look of the film.

  2. It does look very nice. Still not sure how great the movie will be, but it's reassuring to know it can't be as bad as the Smurfs or the Garfield movies.

  3. It's also comforting that Charles Schulz's son and grandson are working on the movie.

  4. When they first announced a CGI Peanuts movie, I was annoyed and frustrated. Then the first teaser came out...I was sold. The trailers they've released so far don't really give us an idea as to what the film's story will be, but in terms of animation and look, they've nailed it. They found a way to give us a fresh take on these characters while still being respectful of the source material. If this film has a good script that retains the charm and wit of the original Peanuts comics and TV specials, this will be one of the best movies of the year.
