The Tintin Sequel Could Start Shooting in 2016 Says Jamie Bell

Currently promoting the new Fantastic Four movie, where he plays the Thing, Jamie Bell teased the sequel to Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. The English actor who played the titular character in the 2011 movie says shooting for the film could begin in 2016. More below.

In an interview with French movie magazine Premiere, Jamie Bell made the following statement:
The project is still on the agenda. Especially now that Peter Jackson is back from Middle Earth, he has to do it. I look forward to seeing his vision for Tintin. Hopefully the shooting will start at the end of next year. But it's not 100% confirmed yet.
So there you have it. Performance capture for the Tintin sequel could begin in late 2016. Premiere speculates that if this indeed happens, the movie could be out by December 2017. Given the amount of post-production needed on performance capture movies, I'd by less optimistic and say late 2018 - at best.

We still don't know which albums will be adapted in this new Tintin film, and if writer Anthony Horowitz - who was working on a script - is still on the project.
