Wreck-It Ralph Clip and Viral Ads

Disney's stellar advertising for their 52nd animated feature film continues inexorably towards its 2nd November US release date. Today, Yahoo! Movies bring us our first extended clip from Wreck-It Ralph, showing us a scene we've seen in previous trailers: Ralph's first meeting with Vanellope von Schweetz.

Yeah, she is kinda irritating... but the last few trailers and TV spots have showed a touching brother-sister dynamic between her and Ralph, so I'll happily wait until the film to judge.

Like Pixar did yesterday, Disney have also gone viral with their advertising, releasing retro-feel ads for Litwak's Arcade - the Arcade which houses the world of Wreck-It Ralph - check them out above and below.

I'm really getting a Toy Story vibe from Wreck-It Ralph - and that's definitely not a bad thing! Particularly with these viral ads, oddly reminiscent of Pizza Planet in Toy Story

  1. Really loving the marketing campaign for this film. I was very worried early on that Disney Marketing would screw everything up completely, but it looks like they are ready for their next huge hit. After all, with the success of "Tangled", they wouldn't want to throw that out the window after how poor and lacking the marketing campaigns were for "Bolt" and TPATF. Tangled's wasn't what I'd call great, but the marketing at least got the word out there.

I think this new viral marketing approach that they adapted since "Toy Story 3" was a great idea (the one good thing post-2009 Disney marketing has done), and perhaps they should do that for all their films rather than doing the pick-and-choose routine.

    1. Yeah, definitely the best Disney marketing campaign for a while! Tangled's marketing was dumb and misleading, but it worked, and got people to see the great film, so it all worked out well in the end!

Either way, can't wait for Wreck-It Ralph!
