The 7th A113Animation Awards Results - and a Farewell

The time has come to announce the winners of the 7th and last A113Animation Awards! The winners are announced below, and are in bold and gold.
As always, our personal tastes decide of the Awards, so it's rather a matter of favourite over best, even if it says 'Best' in the Award title.
There will be a short breakdown of the results after the list of winners; as well as a closing statement from William, Munir and me (Damien), since - as we announced last week - this is the end of the line for A113Animation.

Welcome to the 7th A113Animation Awards! We're here to celebrate our favourite animated films of 2017.

The criteria for participating have been made more flexible this time: as always, we will include movies that have been released in the UK during the past year - but we're also letting in animated films that have premiered in the US within the same period. We'll be explaining why at the end of this post.

We are hereby reminding you that the choices we make are based on our personal taste and on the films we were able to see so far (damn released dates) - which would explain why The Breadwinner isn't nominated in any category despite its critical success. That being said, and as usual for the A113Animation Awards, you can still support films that didn't make our 'Best Animated Feature Film' selection in 'The People's Favourite Animated Film Award'. Just vote for your favourite 2017 animated film in the poll below.

The nominees are presented in alphabetical order of the movie. And here we go!

Review: 'Coco' is a Moving Journey into Mexican Culture

The winning team behind Toy Story 3 is back with Coco, more than 7 years after their previous film: Lee Unkrich (director) and Darla K. Anderson (producer) team up again, this time to bring us a story inspired by Mexican culture; one about Día de los Muertos.

Watch: The Final 'Coco' Trailer Might Be the Best

Pixar latest film, Coco, will be out in the US in about two weeks, and has already opened (to pretty high praise) in Mexico. And now we have a final trailer, which may just be the best one fo this film. It looks wonderful, it's funny, but it can also be considered a bit spoilery. Still, if you're interested, you can watch it below.

We're getting really close to the Mexican and US release of Coco, the latest film from Pixar. So it's not a surprise that the studio is pushing the promotion: not one, but two videos related to Coco were released today on the Disney/Pixar YouTube channel. You can watch them after the break.

Watch: A New 'Coco' Trailer is Out

It seems like it was announced decades ago, but the Pixar film based on the Mexican Day of the dead, Coco, is almost here. It will open in November in the US and a little bit later (erhm) in the UK, in January 2018. The film is directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and co-directed by Adrian Molina.

Initially, Olaf's Frozen Adventure was supposed to debut on ABC as a Christmas special, but it looks like the short will now be shown with Pixar's Coco when the film reaches US theaters on 22 November; you can watch a trailer for Olaf's Frozen Adventure below.

The first full trailer for Coco has arrived, just a few days before Pixar's other 2017 film, Cars 3, is released.
It mainly gives us new footage from the land of the dead and the characters 'living' in it. Watch the 1:30 trailer for Coco below.

Pixar's 'Coco' Unveils a New Poster and its Voice Cast

'Oh My Disney' has revealed a new poster (see above) for Pixar's Coco, as well as the list of characters in the film with a short description and its voice actor. This could be considered as mild spoilers, but you can read the character list below or at this link if you want.

Watch: 'Dante's Lunch', a New Pixar Short set in the 'Coco' Universe

Usually, the shorts based on Pixar feature films arrive after the movie itself; but the Emeryville studio apparently decided to shake things up with Coco: a few months before the release of the Lee Unkrich film, Yahoo Movies got an exclusive short called Dante's Lunch, starring Dante, the hairless dog that appeared in the Coco teaser trailer. After making us all cry with Toy Story 3 in 2010, Lee Unkrich is back (probably for more of our tears) with Coco, a story about the Mexican day of the dead (or Dìa de los Muertos). The first trailer for Coco just dropped, and you can witness how wonderful it looks just below.

Pixar Reveals Voice Cast, Plot Details and an Artwork for 'Coco'

Lee Unkrich's next film, Coco, will be out by this time next year, so maybe it was time for Pixar to announce (via Entertainment Weekly) some of the voice cast and a plot for the upcoming movie (which is taking place on the Day of the Dead in Mexico).
