Dawn of the Croods, a TV series based on DreamWorks Animation's feature film The Croods (directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco in 2013) will premiere on the 24th December on Netflix. Get a first look look at the show below with the official trailer.
It seems like an odd choice to go from CGI to this 2D animation, as the best thing in The Croods was probably the rich and colourful rendition of the prehistoric world; it worked beautifully in 3D, but sadly it appears the TV series isn't aiming for that.
Anyway, here's the synopsis for the show:
The world’s first family is back and funnier than ever in this all-new original family sitcom! Eep, Grug, Thunk, Ugga, Sandy and Gran are taking the prehistoric Croodacious era by storm as they deal with modern-day problems for the first time ever in history. School, slumber parties and elections are some of the hilarious wonders of modern life The Croods are discovering!
