It was heavily rumoured that the Spider-Man in the animated film produced by Chris Miller and Phil Lord would be Miles Morales, not Peter Parker. Sony has now confirmed it during a presentation in Los Angeles (and on twitter). Get the details below.

Additionally, we learned the movie will be co-directed by Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians). He joins Bob Persichetti (writer on The Little Prince), who was already attached to the project.
According to executive producers Lord and Miller, the film "has a lot of heart, a lot of action, and a lot of laughs."
The stand-alone Spider-Man movie is written by Phil Lord and will be released on 21 December, 2018.
