'Klaus' is Happening at Netflix

Good news everyone! It appears that Klaus, a hand-drawn project which we talked about two years ago will happen, thanks to Netflix. Cartoon Brew reports that the streaming service has acquired the rights to Klaus and will help produce it, aiming for a Christmas 2019 release date.

Klaus is an original take on the Santa Claus character, as explained by the director and co-writer of the film, Sergio Pablos:
'How is it possible there’s no story about the origin of Santa Claus? He’s one of the most well-known and loved characters in the world! We felt this was a story that needed to be told and that there was no better way than with animation.'
Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, J.K. Simmons, and Joan Cusack have joined the project as voice actors.

Below is the beautiful animation test from 2015.
