The 7th A113Animation Awards Nominations (and an Announcement)

Welcome to the 7th A113Animation Awards! We're here to celebrate our favourite animated films of 2017.

The criteria for participating have been made more flexible this time: as always, we will include movies that have been released in the UK during the past year - but we're also letting in animated films that have premiered in the US within the same period. We'll be explaining why at the end of this post.

We are hereby reminding you that the choices we make are based on our personal taste and on the films we were able to see so far (damn released dates) - which would explain why The Breadwinner isn't nominated in any category despite its critical success. That being said, and as usual for the A113Animation Awards, you can still support films that didn't make our 'Best Animated Feature Film' selection in 'The People's Favourite Animated Film Award'. Just vote for your favourite 2017 animated film in the poll below.

The nominees are presented in alphabetical order of the movie. And here we go!

Best Animated Feature Film
  • The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales
  • The Boy and the Beast
  • Coco
  • The LEGO Batman Movie
  • My Life as a Courgette

So why the changes in the eligibility rules? Simply because we wanted to have as many films as we could in these A113Animation Awards, as these are probably our last ones.
More generally, these Awards could be the last thing from A113Animation, as we feel it's time for the blog - created by William about 7 years ago - to retire.

But we still have the 7th A113Animation Awards to look forward to: the results will be announced on Saturday 17 February at 8pm GMT. In the meantime, don't forget to vote for your favourite 2017 animated film in the 'People's Favourite Animated Film Award' poll.

      See you next week!
