Get a Fist Look at 'Piper', the Pixar Short Film That Will be Attached to 'Finding Dory'

Piper, a short film produced at Pixar and directed by Alan Barillaro, will be attached to Finding Dory when the feature film hits theaters later this year (source: Entertainment Weekly). Learn what the short is about and see a concept art for it after the break.

Piper is about an aquaphobic sandpiper baby. The idea came to Barillaro on a beach, not from the Pixar Studios, as he told Entertainment Weekly:
"Seeing the way these sandpipers react to waves and run, I always felt, ‘Gosh, that’s a film, that’s a character. It’s always fun to show a world we’re familiar with but from a different perspective. We’ve all been to the beach, but have we ever viewed water from just an inch off the sand? That could be very fearful from a bird’s perspective."
This is the first time Alan Barillaro directs a film for Pixar, having exclusively worked as an animator before this. The 6-minute short Piper will grace the big screen on 17th July (US) / 29th July (UK).
