Mike Mitchell Replaces Rob Schrab as Director of 'The LEGO Movie Sequel'
We're only one year away from the planned release of The LEGO Movie Sequel and yet The Hollywood Reporter has just revealed that Rob Schrab has been replaced as director by Mike Mitchell.
Apparently, Rob Schrab was let go because of the usual 'creative differences' - two words we're used to hear in these sorts of situations but don't mean anything, really.
Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Shrek Forever After) has a more solid background directing animated films that Schrab had, which may be one of the reasons for the swap.
The script for The LEGO Movie Sequel was penned by writer/directors of the original film Chris Miller and Phil Lord, but was since rewritten by Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman).
