Edgar Wright Will Direct an Animated Film About Shadows for DreamWorks

This is kind of a good news/bad news situation here; the good news being that, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Edgar Wright will co-write and direct an animated film at DreamWorks centered on the concept of shadows. Now, the bad: Me and My Shadow, another DreamWorks project helmed by Alessandro Carloni with a similar concept seems to be cancelled for good.

This will be Edgar Wright's first animated feature film, although one of his next projects, Unfortunately the Milk, will be a live-action/Animation hybrid. David Walliams (Little Britain) will co-write.

Here's what DreamWorks Animation’s co-presidents Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria had to say on this yet untitled film:
Edgar will spearhead a new approach to this fascinating concept and we’re ecstatic to have him on board as director along with David as co-writer. We’ve always been intrigued by a film concept involving shadows, and now with Edgar’s signature comedic style and abilities as a natural storyteller, audiences will be treated to a truly captivating and energetic tale.
What are your thoughts on this news? Sad that Me and My Shadow will never see the light of day or excited for the new project?
