'Shaun the Sheep Movie 2' is a Go

Aardman has announced via its official website that a sequel to the great Shaun the Sheep Movie is on its way. Richard Starzak, which was one of the directors of the first film with Mark Burton, will be back at the helm.

We know Aardman is curently hard at work on Nick Park's new film Early Man, but that won't prevent them from starting pre-production on the Shaun the Sheep Movie 2 (Aardman's first big screen sequel) this upcoming January.

Here is a statement from Aardman co-founder David Sproxton on the movie:

Shaun’s move to the big screen proved such a success with audiences around the world that he and the flock are very excited to be embarking on another big screen adventure. Aardman is partnering with StudioCanal once again to produce another rip-roaring comedy, featuring Shaun and the rest of the gang in a story that takes them to even greater heights of lunacy.
