What is it?
While the United States are currently enjoying Cars 3, Pixar's latest outing will only open in August in France. Instead, French animation fans are treated with a new feature film by Benjamin Renner, one of the directors of the critically acclaimed Ernest & Celestine.
This time, Renner adapted one of his own comic books, Le Grand Méchant Renard, which was published in 2015 and for which he took his inspiration from French literature classic La Fontaine's Fables.
Though he was only a director on Ernest & Celestine, he co-wrote this one with Jean Regnaud and co-directed with Patrick Imbert.

'Shaun the Sheep Movie 2' is a Go

Aardman has announced via its official website that a sequel to the great Shaun the Sheep Movie is on its way. Richard Starzak, which was one of the directors of the first film with Mark Burton, will be back at the helm.

Eddie Redmayne Will Voice the Main Character in Aardman's 'Early Man'

Aardman just announced that Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them…) would voice Dug, the main character in the studio's upcoming film Early Man. StudioCanal, who is distributing the movie also gave us the release dates for the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Read the full press release below.

Nick Park's Next Film is 'Early Man'

Be excited! Be very excited, animations fans, because Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run) is working on a new stop-motion movie, as it was announced by Aardman today. The film will be called Early Man.

Aardman News: Shaun the Sheep Movie Coming March 2015

Aardman announced, back in April, that their next film would be a feature adaptation of their Shaun the Sheep TV series, and that the film would be released in 2015. Richard "Golly" Starzak (who's directing the film with Mark Burton) announced on Twitter that the film is now set to bow on 20th March, 2015.

StudioCanal and The Weinstein Company to Adapt Paddington Bear with Colin Firth

Colin Firth will voice Paddington Bear in TWC/StudioCanal's Paddington.

StudioCanal has acquired the rights to adapt the beloved, classic children's book character, Paddington Bear. The adaptation of Michael Bond's duffle-coated, marmalade-loving bear is called Paddington, and will be a hybrid of CG and live-action.

Aardman News 13 - Shaun the Sheep Movie Details

Aardman have announced a partnership with producer-financer StudioCanal to craft the feature film debut of Shaun the Sheep. Shaun first appeared in the Oscar-winning Wallace and Gromit short, A Close Shave, and has since starred in his own, very popular, kids' TV series.

The good news for Aardman fans is that, much like their most recent hit, The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists, Shaun the Sheep will be animated in Aardman's trademark claymation style. It's being written and directed by Aardman veterans Mark Burton and Richard "Golly" Starzak. Golly directed two series of Creature Comforts, as well developing and co-directing the Shaun the Sheep TV series; Burton worked on Chicken Run.
