Aardman News: Shaun the Sheep Movie Coming March 2015

Aardman announced, back in April, that their next film would be a feature adaptation of their Shaun the Sheep TV series, and that the film would be released in 2015. Richard "Golly" Starzak (who's directing the film with Mark Burton) announced on Twitter that the film is now set to bow on 20th March, 2015.

Shaun the Sheep: The Movie, which is being made in partnership with StudioCanal, will be the big screen debut of the character who first appeared in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave back in 1995. StudioCanal are financing the project and will distribute it in the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. No word on US distribution or release date yet though.

The synopsis for the stop-motion film is:
"When Shaun’s mischief inadvertently leads to the Farmer being taken away from the farm, Shaun, Bitzer and the flock have to go into the big city to rescue him, setting the stage for an epic adventure."

2015's going to be a massive year, and it's great to see that Aardman are going to be a part of it. Roll on Shaun the Sheep!
