Be excited! Be very excited, animations fans, because Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run) is working on a new stop-motion movie, as it was announced by Aardman today. The film will be called Early Man.
Early Man will be Aardman's second collaboration with StudioCanal, after the brilliant Shaun the Sheep Movie, released earlier this year. Mark Burton and John O'Farrell are writing the script. Here's the official synopsis:
Set at the dawn of time, when dinosaurs and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, ‘Early Man’ tells the story of how one plucky caveman unites his tribe against a mighty enemy and saves the day! This sounds like a lot of fun, and the Bristol studio has yet to disappoint us whit one of their stop-motion flicks. Early Man is Nick Park's first big directing gig since Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) - though he did helm A Matter of Loaf and Death in 2008 - and having this talented artist coming back to the big screen with an original project is pure joy.
Aardman didn't announce a release date yet.
