Marvel Announces 'Captain America: Civil War' Cast + New Synopsis

Warning: If you haven't seen Avengers: Age of Ultron yet, this post contain spoilers on which characters survive the events of said movie.

Principal photography has begun on Captain America: Civil War, and Marvel took this opportunity to issue a press release with a lot on informations on the upcoming film.
We've known for a while that Civil War would be pretty big; we probably didn't know how much an understatement 'pretty big' is. More after the break.

First, here's a list of all the characters that have appeared in the MCU before, and who will come back for Civil War:
• Steve Rogers / Captain America (Chris Evans)
• Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.)
• Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)
• Clint Barton / Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner)
• Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen)
• The Vision (Paul Bettany)
• Sam Wilson / Falcon (Anthony Mackie)
• Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan)
• Jim Rhodes / War Machine (Don Cheadle)
• Brock Rumlow / Crossbones (Frank Grillo)
• Sharon Carter / Agent 13 (Emily VanCamp)
• General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross (William Hurt)
Scott Lang / Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) will also be in Civil War, after his solo movie debut in a few months.

Additionally,  some new guys will be introduced:
• T'Challa / Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman)
• Two yet unnamed characters that will be portrayed by Daniel Brühl and Martin Freeman.
There are also rumours that the new Spider Man will make its debut in the film. Anthony Mackie wasn't kidding when he joked Captain America: Civil War was "so far beyond Avengers 2.5 and onto the realm of Avengers 3.8". In a way, Civil War feels almost bigger than the two Avengers movies already released by Marvel - which is saying something. The only important characters missing from the picture are Hulk and Thor.

Marvel also released the following synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. 

The Russo brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) are directing; Civil War will be released on the 29th April (UK) / the 6th May, 2016 (US).
