Catch a First Glimpse of Nick Park's 'Early Man'

We reported a few days ago that Nick Park was working on a new stop-motion film for Aardman set in prehistoric times called Early Man. At the Cannes Film Festival, Film Divider caught some demo footage, a teaser image (that you can see above) and something that looks like a more detailed synopsis than the one we've seen before.

Film Divider also got the names of the main characters. They are Dug the caveman and his pet, Hog Nobs - and they are apparently looking at some cave paintings that weirdly resemble famous characters from other Aardman Animations films.

Here's the new synopsis:
Pint sized Dug’s not really cut out to be a caveman. But when disaster strikes and his tribe are driven from their homeland by the might Bronze Age, it’s Dug, the most inept of the tribe, who proves he’s got what it takes and leads them to victory! Set at the dawn of time, when dinosaurs and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of how one plucky tribe of cavemen learn to work together and be a team.
This looks and sounds even more exciting than before. Dinosaurs and wolly mammoths? Bring it on, Aardman!
