Hergé's Life to Become an Animated TV Series

Tintin is back to the small screen! Well, sort of.
Normaal Animation, a French studio already responsible for TV adaptations of Peanuts and Gaston Lagaffe, has signed a deal with Moulinsart SA to adapt the life of Tintin's creator Hergé's into an animated TV series.

The announcement was made earlier this month at the Angoulême comic-book Festival. The TV series will consist of three 52 minutes episodes revolving around the life and work of Hergé, including Tintin and the less famous Quick and Flupke. We don't know exactly how much screen presence the characters created by Hergé will have, as this is more about recreating Hergé's universe than telling the stories of his comic book heroes. That being said, Normaal Animation's founder Alexis Lavillat said the studio is "allowing [itself] to let the project evolve'"

Alexis Lavillat hopes to reveal the first footage at next year's Angoulême Festival. The estimated launch of the series on French TV is between late 2016 and early 2017.

Nothing is known about other territories so far.
