In a recent interview with Collider.com, John C. Reilly claimed that Disney is currently working on a Wreck-It Ralph sequel. Reilly, of course, voiced the titular character in the first film and has been saying for quite some time that he'd like to make a follow-up to the 2012 animated feature, but this is the first time he seems to confirm it's actually happening.
Here is the full Wreck-It Ralph sequel conversation from the interview:
Collider: Thank you so much for talking to me! The last time we spoke was for Wreck-It Ralph, which I was and am a huge fan of.
JOHN C. REILLY: Well, we’re making another one!
Are you already doing that?
REILLY: We’re working on it.
I hope we get to see a sequel, sooner rather than later.
REILLY: Yeah, me too. [Animated features] take a long time to make, though, so be prepared. So there you have it. Now, don't hold your breath for it: Rich Moore, who directed Wreck-It Ralph and should be helming the sequel, has been very busy lately with Zootopia. But now that this one is done and released, Moore may have moved on to Wreck-It Ralph 2.
Fingers crossed!
