Wreck-It Ralph's only just out in the US, and is still a way off being out in the UK, but director Rich Moore has already not only expressed a keen interest in pursuing a sequel, but announced that he's actively working on ideas for one!
Gamer Hub Videos (via Disney Dreaming) brings us the above interview (skip to 4:13 for the relevant part), in which the former Simpsons director said:
"I think it would be great to explore online gaming, home games... It was fun to kind of begin it in an arcade, and I think that really tapped into the nostalgia, that that has attached to it. But if we were to do a sequel, I think we need to kind of bring it up to date. So we're working on ideas, should we do one, that would bring it into modern gaming."
Moore took to Reddit this evening as well, answering questions from rabid fans about the film and his other work. When asked about the potential sequel, he said:
"I would jump on it in a New York minute-- I LOVE these characters and the people who play them."
If you're interested, Moore also fielded Reddit questions about Ralph's production - resulting in a hilarious, and I'm assuming not-serious, reply - and his favourite episodes of The Simpsons which he directed (which include two of my favourites!) as well.
Wreck-It Ralph 1 isn't even out yet, and there's all this talk of a sequel - it's very exciting! Roll on 15th February. Check out the cool new international poster for the film below as well.
