Here's Marvel's Phase 3 Slate!

Phase 3 of the multi-billion dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe was announced at a special Marvel event yesterday! We'll cut to the chase and tell you what you an expect from these new Marvel films, and when. Check out the breakdown below!

6th May, 2016: Captain America: Civil War

 
4th November, 2016: Doctor Strange 

A director has also been confirmed: Scott Derrickson (Deliver Us From Evil, Sinister). Still waiting on casting confirmation (although Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch is said to be in "final talks").



5th May, 2017: Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

 
28th July, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok

Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki.


3rd November, 2017: Black Panther

Black Panther will be played by Chadwick Boseman, and will be introduced in Captain America: Civil War.


4th May, 2018: Avengers: Infinity War Part I


6th July, 2018: Captain Marvel


2nd November, 2018: Inhumans


3rd May, 2019: Avengers: Infinity War Part II


It's all pretty exciting stuff! It'll be very interesting to see The Avengers split into 2 movies, but have Marvel ever let us down?

  1. Given how much I liked GotG, I should probably more excited about its sequel; but honestly, yesterday's huge announcement is the Infinity War. It's not only the end of Phase 3, it's the conclusion of this whole Infinity Gauntlet storyline that has been teased since Phase 1 (Thor) and has given us MacGuffins for 4 Marvel films so far (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and GotG).


    Marvel is now left with one problem though; how are they gonna make Phase 4 bigger?

  2. I would imagine Phase 4 will be all about shifting the focus onto the new set of key Avengers, i.e. setting up Doctor Strange, Black Panther, etc... as the key guys. So it'll probably be a much tamer affair than Phases 2 and 3. At least that would be my assumption...
