[Updated: April Fool's Joke] Frozen 2 Will Be Live Action

Big surprise! You remember Frozen 2 was officially announced earlier this month by Walt Disney Animation Studios? Well it turns out the decision-makers at the top of the studio had a sudden change of heart. But don't worry, Frozen 2 hasn't been cancelled -- instead, it's going to be turned into a live action film. More below.

Check Out the Logo for How to Train Your Dragon 2

Well, no subtitle in sight, but here's the official logo for DreamWorks' highly anticipated sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2. Not much to say really, it says the film's name... And it definitely looks a bit more dragon-y than the original film's logo. Quite striking.

HTTYD2 is directed by Dean DeBlois (Chris Sanders, who directed the first film with DeBlois, is relegated to an executive producer role this time round, due to - as he discussed in our interview - his commitments to The Croods) and produced again by Bonnie Arnold. If you haven't yet, make sure you check out the phenomenal teaser trailer we got for the film a couple of months ago.

Dragon 2 hits cinemas on 13th June, 2014 (US)/4th July, 2014 (UK).

Introducing the New A113Animation Logo

Yesterday we announced that we're expanding over here at A113Animation. We've got two vacancies at the moment, for Studio Ghibli and Live-action Disney writers; we've launched a shiny new YouTube channel, which we'll be posting some exciting animation news, reviews and opinions to in the coming weeks. As part of our expansion, we decided it was time for a bit of a revamp.

So, Damien stepped in and whipped up this awesome new logo - keeping the Toy Story title panache, but bringing in a more diverse range of animated characters, all hoisting high the mighty A113Animation logo.

Thanks to Damien for the new banner, and watch this space, as we continue to expand in new and exciting directions.

Cool Logo For Pixar's The Good Dinosaur

Briefly: Pixar News received an anonymous tip that the above logo is being used for Up co-director Bob Peterson's solo-directorial debut, The Good Dinosaur. Pixar Post confirms that the logo is legit - or at least was being used in November of last year. It's a nifty little logo that goes well with the quirky story The Good Dinosaur has - I can't wait to hear more from this film when Monsters University's almost out later this summer.

The Good Dinosaur is co-directed by Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy) and produced by John Walker (The Incredibles), it's released on 30th May, 2014 in the US and 18th July, 2014 in the UK.

Monsters University Logo and Synopsis Revealed

Disney and Pixar have revealed a little bit more about Monsters University, the 2013 prequel to 2001's Monsters, Inc.

Firstly, we have the above logo, the official logo for the film, it's simple, but it's effective. It's a nice combination of the classic Monsters, Inc. logo and vintage varsity writing.

Secondly, Disney and Pixar have also released the official synopsis for the film (below):
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
As is to be expected from Pixar, it sounds great, a nice way to break up the massive stack of Pixar sequels as of late (with Toy Story 3 last year and Cars 2 due out this year) and I can't wait to see what Pixar'll do with a prequel.

The film is set to be directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae (A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, Up) and is due to be released on 21st June, 2013.
