Pixar Bits: Brave Oscar Celebration Video and New Jam-Packed Monsters University Poster

Fresh of the studio's seventh Best Animated Feature Oscar win on Sunday night, Pixar had a rather boisterous celebration today. Co-director Mark Andrews and producer Katherine Sarafian paraded the statuette around, celebrating with Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton and what seemed to be the entire Pixar family! ABC7 News were present to record the proceedings and get a word or two from MAndrews.

Once again, congrats to everyone who worked on Brave on the colossal achivement.

The Emeryville-based studio will surely be hoping to make that eight wins in a year's time, when Monsters University may well be vying for the animation prize! The original Monsters, Inc. was nominated in The Oscars' inaugural Best Animated Feature category, but lost out to DreamWorks' Shrek.

Empire today rolled out a moster-packed poster for Monsters U, showing off a lot of the characters we met in the previous batch of posters, as well as some familiar faces from the 2001 original -- is that George Sanderson I spy waving an MU flag? This is going to be a helluva lot of fun!

Monsters University opens with The Blue Umbrella on 21st June (US) and 12th July (UK).

  1. Yay ! Congrats Pixar for the Oscar win (and the Golden Globe, and the Bafta). Not bad for a studio that's going downhill, no ?

And of course that's George Sanderson.

    1. Yeah. It's almost as if they're actually still great! Hm, fancy that.

  2. Even if I like Ralph more, I'm very happy that Brave took it as it also deserved it. On another note, I love the new MU poster but is Celia going to appear in this film? So far there has been no images of her.

    1. I'm sure I read something saying she was going to appear in it; but I've not heard or seen anything to indicate so recently...
