The A113Animation Podcast, Episode 5 - Brandon Oldenburg and Limbert Fabian

After our lengthy D23/Despicable Me 2 double-feature episode last time, episode 5 of the A113Animation Podcast is a shorter one. This is a bonus episode, featuring my interview with Brandon Oldenburg and Limbert Fabian, the directors of Moonbot Studios'/Chipotle Mexican Grill/CAA's attention-getting short film, The Scarecrow! You can check out the full transcription of the interview here, but if you'd rather listen to my nasally tones and the voices of Brandon and Limbert, then you can listen to the podcast on Podomatic, iTunes and Stitcher below! We talk the film's production, its inspirations, its choice of music, what's next for the studio (a feature film collaboration with Guillermo del Toro is just one of many exciting projects!) and more - including Brandon's rant about original Star Wars lightsaber toys. You don't want to miss that.

If you're feeling generous, head on over to our Support page to see how you can help contribute to A113Animation. We're recording episodes 6 and 7 (our two-part Disney Renaissance show) tomorrow. Meanwhile, enjoy!

The A113Animation Podcast, Episode 4 - D23 and Despicable Me 2

Episode 4 of the A113Animation Podcast is a biggie - and you can download and/or listen to it right now! Our cast of co-hosts is once again in rotation, and joining William this week are Munir, Damien and, making her podcast debut, our Studio Ghibli writer, Mayra! This was a double feature episode, and in place of our normal news section, the four of us discussed solely the big animation news from Disney's D23 expo. Our film this week is Illumination Entertainment's minion-packed sequel, Despicable Me 2. As per, there's a bit of off-topic talk, with some discussion of the newest episodes of Breaking Bad, and the announcement of the twelfth Doctor. Forewarning, if you're listening to the podcast with youngish kids, there is some rather choice language, particularly in the Breaking Bad section - no F-bombs though.

As usual, enjoy the show, get in touch and, if you're particularly moved by the show, you could always help us out by heading on over to our Support page. The episode is available on Podomatic now, and will be appearing in our iTunes feed and Stitcher playlist very soon.

This Week on A113Animation (29th July - 4th August, 2013)

While no life altering developments happened this week, we still had some pretty exciting news, Blu-ray announcements, teaser trailers and more. And of course we got the latest features, one guest review and the latest podcast episode. Check out the full breakdown of this mildly busy week.

The A113Animation Podcast, Episode 3 - Monsters University

Episode 3 of A113Animation's flagship - and for that matter, lone - podcast is now online! We were going to have the full team this week, but that plan went somewhat awry. Nonetheless, Damien's back this week, and joining him and me on the show is our live-action Disney writer, Nadine! The three of us reviewed Pixar's latest offering, Monsters University (which has only just arrived on all of our shores this month), along with some chatter about recent animated trailers (yes, so there's less griping about Disney's lack of Frozen promotion!). We also dip into the world of giant robots and aliens for a brief discussion of Pacific Rim, too.

As usual, enjoy the show, get in touch and, if you're particularly moved by the show, you could always help us out by heading on over to our Support page. The episode is available on Podomatic now, and will be appearing in our iTunes feed and Stitcher playlist very soon.

The A113Animation Podcast Episode 2 - Epic

Damien's absent this week, so Munir and I discuss Epic alone. There's some varied opinion on the film as I quite liked it and Munir... well, he didn't. We've also got a far more stacked news schedule than we had last time round, so, alongside a range of topics including Disney, Pixar, Brad Bird, Star Wars and WWE, we review Blue Sky Studios' Epic! Fans of Arrested Development won't be disappointed either, as we discuss season 4 of the show. Listen to the podcast for rants galore and to hear me utter the phrase "yolo and so forth".

Apologies for the background noise, we had some recording issues and sadly our limited recording equipment is showing, but we've done our best to edit most of it out. Hence the long wait. The episode is available on Podomatic now, and will be appearing in our iTunes feed and Stitcher playlist soon. Full show notes for the episode are below.
