The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 to Actually Be the Same Film, Says Iger

A couple of weeks ago we got the mammoth news that Disney and Pixar were going ahead with sequels to The Incredibles and Cars. Now we've got news which is even bigger: Disney CEO Bob Iger says that the two films will actually be one; a crossover film which will lay the groundwork for a "Pixar Cinematic Universe."

Rumour: Are Pixar Developing a Star Wars Film?

This is a rumour, so treat it with a grain of salt, - or a vat of it - but Latino Review claims that Pixar is currently in development of its own Star Wars film! The inevitability of these sort of rumours has been abound since Disney bought Lucasfilm back in October 2012, so it's not a shock to see this pop up, but Latino Review have been proven right with some rumours in the past (although they've also been egregiously untrustworthy with others...), so it's worth considering.

Rumour: Benedict Cumberbatch for Star Wars: Episode VII?

As we all do, people are putting two and two together and making Star Wars casting theories. This one sounds like it could just be true though: Benedict Cumberbatch might be joining Star Wars: Episode VII.

It was only a few weeks ago that Cumberbatch dropped out of Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak, which many speculated that this means he is making time for his director-buddy from Star Trek, J.J Abrams, and Star Wars.

This Week on A113Animation (22nd - 28th July, 2013)

This has been a rather slow week for news over here at A113Animation, particularly after the trailer-iness and Comic-Con-ly goodness of recent weeks. We've also got your latest features and another new editorial about Toy Story director John Lasseter. Check out the rather slim breakdown of the past seven days below.

The A113Animation Podcast Episode 2 - Epic

Damien's absent this week, so Munir and I discuss Epic alone. There's some varied opinion on the film as I quite liked it and Munir... well, he didn't. We've also got a far more stacked news schedule than we had last time round, so, alongside a range of topics including Disney, Pixar, Brad Bird, Star Wars and WWE, we review Blue Sky Studios' Epic! Fans of Arrested Development won't be disappointed either, as we discuss season 4 of the show. Listen to the podcast for rants galore and to hear me utter the phrase "yolo and so forth".

Apologies for the background noise, we had some recording issues and sadly our limited recording equipment is showing, but we've done our best to edit most of it out. Hence the long wait. The episode is available on Podomatic now, and will be appearing in our iTunes feed and Stitcher playlist soon. Full show notes for the episode are below.
