You guys remember Scotty Jo, right? Friend of the blog who's been kind enough to have me over on his podcast and let me ramble about animation twice now (with a third time coming up shortly). Well, he's working on a little animated short film of his own, Moon Bear. Moon Bear is based on a storybook Scott himself made in college, a touching story about loneliness, all told in a charming visual style.

Scott intends to traditionally animate the short over the next year or two, and it's not going to be cheap. As such, he's set up a Kickstarter campaign to fund the technological requirements (including new hardware and professional animation software, Toon Boom). He's trying to raise $3500, and, at the time of writing, has got just over a tenth of that. As is the norm with Kickstarter, more generous contributions will get you more interesting rewards: $10+ will get your name in the credits, $25+ will get you a DVD and signed thank you note too, up from there you can get framed cells and drawings and more.
