Robert Downey, Jr.'s Marvel Contract's Up; Will He Sign a New One?

Since Iron Man 3 hit cinemas (read our A113 group review here), there has been speculation over Robert Downey, Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as his extensive contract with Marvel has now ran its course.

According to The Hollywood Reporter"Sources close to the dealmaking say Downey has entered negotiations to reprise his role in Marvel’s The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3." This isn't at all surprising, as an Avengers without Tony Stark would certainly put a dent in the potential box office takings. But it is reassuring to hear that Downey, Jr's contract is being looked at.

Iron Man 3 is out in cinemas now.

  1. Even though I think we can all agree actors get paid an extortionately high amount anyway, I'm sure Disney can afford to carve a few million out of the guaranteed billion dollars they'll take with The Avengers 2 to get the cast assembled again.
