Watch: New Trailer for The Lone Ranger

An action packed new trailer for Jerry Bruckheimer's latest Disney live-action flick has been released, showcasing a lot of sand, a lot of fighting and some very expensive set design.

The Lone Ranger will be another collaboration from director Gore Verbinski, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and star Johnny Depp; it's no surprise the trailer has a Pirates of the Caribbean feel - just not so near the sea.

The Social Network's Armie Hammer plays the title role of the Lone Ranger, John Reid, who recovers from a shootout thanks to the help of an American Indian spirit warrior, Tonto, played by none other than Johnny Depp. The Lone Ranger is the classic adventure story of two unlikely heroes joining together to fight for justice in America.

We don't learn a lot more than we already knew from this trailer, but we do see some fantastic action shots of Depp swinging on ropes and Armie Hammer riding a horse on a train - suggesting that they're not going to be particularly normal heroes. The film also stars Helena Bonhan Carter, William FichtnerBarry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson.

Until we find an official video to embed onto here, head over to iTunes Movie Trailers to watch the latest trailer.

The Lone Ranger is out on 3rd July in the US, and 9th August.

  1. I'm looking forward to this, been a Hammer fan since Reaper and Gore can definitely make an entertaining film.

Also Depp's there too but I think he goes without saying haha

  2. Is Johnny Depp in this film? I didn't notice. They totally haven't mentioned that in the advertising enough. ;)
