As we've heard previously, Disney are set to release a new Mickey Mouse short, Get a Horse!. Today, the House of the Mouse revealed a nice new poster for the film (above). More details below.
Disney are trying to bill this as a lost Mickey short, right down to the black-and-white style and the fact that it uses a Walt Disney audio track for Mickey, yet Cartoon Brew says that it's directed by Lauren MacMullan (King of the Hill) and Dorothy McKim (Meet the Robinsons).
Nonetheless, it sounds cool, retro, and classic Disney. Here's what the studio had to say about the short:
"Making its world debut Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Annecy Animation Festival in Annecy, France, is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ never-before-seen short “Get A Horse!” Starring the one and only Mickey Mouse and featuring Walt Disney himself as the voice of the iconic character, this black-and-white, hand-drawn short follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal Minnie Mouse and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow as they delight in a musical wagon ride—until Peg-Leg Pete shows up and tries to run them off the road."
And here's a hi-res, slightly redder, version of the poster which Disney sent us:
Yay! I'm excited to see some old school Mickey shorts again. Nice to see WDAS go back to its roots.
ReplyDeleteBut how long will this last though? ;)
