Studio Ghibli Releases Trailer for The Wind Rises

Finally! With one month to go until the Japanese premiere of The Wind Rises, Studio Ghibli has finally released a teaser trailer for the film. Unfortunately, because the trailer was released by Japanese TV networks, there are talking heads, and a lot of script around the edges clouding the screen. Below you will find two versions of the trailer, and hopefully one of them works for you.

Though the teaser trailer still doesn't lend much to the character development or plot of the story, it does give us a great glimpse of the beautiful animation we can expect come 20th July (in Japan only).

While there still aren't worldwide release dates, we can take a bit of comfort in watching and re-watching this trailer, as we wait in anticipation.

Featuring the voices of Hideaki Anno, Miori Takimoto, Steven Alpert, Morio Kazama, Keiko Takeshita, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Mirai Shida, Mansai Nomura and Masahiko Nishimura, and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the story is based on the engineer who designed the Zero Fighter planes that Japan used during WWII.
