Oh, bother - Winnie the Pooh Will Come Back… in Live Action

We joked about this, but it's not funny anymore. In its recent live action madness, Disney is now planning to release a live action Winnie the Pooh. The information comes from Deadline and looks like it's not a late April Fool's joke.

The story will apparently focus on an adult Christopher Robin who travels back to the Hundred Acre Wood where he sees his old friends again. The film will be written by Alex Ross Perry.

The hopeful way to look at this is to believe Winnie and his Hundred Acre Wood friends will appear in traditional animation, as it's been the case since 1966, when Disney first adapted the A.A. Milne books. The only live action elements would then be the sets and the actor playing Christopher Robin.
Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely this will happen; instead, all these beloved characters will probably be turned into talking CG animals.

We'll try to bring you updates on this project; but quite frankly, we're just hoping it gets cancelled.

  1. My initial reaction was far more vulgar and angry... But 'oh, bother' about sums it up, I guess. Grr.

  2. It's like Disney wants us to hate them. Weird strategy.
