'Untitled Pets Movie' Becomes 'The Secret Life of Pets' and Gets a New Release Date
Deadline reports that the yet untitled Illumination Entertainment film about pets finally got a title: it will be called The Secret Life of Pets. We also learned that the release of the film has been pushed back, from the 12th February to the 8th July, 2016.
The Secret Life of Pets will be about Max, a terrier living happily in Manhattan with his owner. His life changes for the worst the day a new dog named Duke arrives in his apartment. Max and Duke will have to understand each other though, if they want to stop Snowball, a cute bunny thirsty for revenge against humanity.
Amongst other comedians, the film will feature the voices of Louis C.K. (Max), Eric Stonestreet (Duke), Kevin Hart (Snowball), Ellie Kemper (Max and Duke's owner) and Albert Brooks.
Chris Renaud is directing, with Yarrow Cheney serving as co-director. The film was written by Ken Daurio & Cinco Paul.
The fact that the writers and director of the film were also behind the flagship franchise of Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me), the strong cast and the funny premise are reason enough to be at least hopeful that The Secret Life of Pets will be great.
What do you think? Are you excited for The Secret Life of Pets?
