Three LEGO Movies Get New Release Dates

The LEGO Movie was a huge success last year, with a worldwide total gross of $468M in theaters. As you may know and unsurprisingly, Warner Bros. wants to repeat the formula; today we learned the release dates for three of these films.

First, The LEGO Batman Movie will arrive on the 10th February, 2017. This spin-off of The LEGO Movie starring Will Arnett as the caped crusader will be directed by Chris McKay. Nothing is known about the plot yet, but this one should be a lot of fun.

Next will be the Ninjago movie. Now, this is more disturbing, since the previous release date for Ninjago was the 23rd September, 2016 and it has been pushed back almost a year; it will now open on the 22nd September, 2017. This could possibly mean the project is facing some story problems. Charlie Bean is directing that one.

Finally, Warner Bros. announced that the release date for The LEGO Movie Sequel has been moved up a week, from the 25th to the 18th May, 2018. Rob Schrab is at the helm (as we previously reported), with a script by Chris Miller and Phil Lord (who wrote and directed the first one).

Warner Bros. is certainly not stopping there, though, and you can expect a lot more LEGO announcements in the near future. We already know of one other project, but it wouldn't be shocking to learn more are on the way.
