New Marvel Movies Announced

Disney have been on a roll this week with lots of news; it now appears that two new Marvel films have been scheduled for Phase 3.

Downey, Jr. with Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige.

Two Marvel 'mystery' films have been announced for 5th May, 2016 and 5th May, 2017, with no confirmation regarding what - or more aptly, who - they will be about.

However, Marvel main man Kevin Feige may have given the game away with one title, saying "Doctor Strange, which I've been talking about for years, is definitely one of them." Interesting.

So far we're only one film into Phase 2, but it's nice to hear Marvel's planning the next stage and knowing that the universe continues to expand.

After Phase 2 is complete, the third phase begins with Edgar Wright's Ant-Man due December 2015, so the two new films look to be following through Phase 3.

Expanding the universe to bring more single character films could be quite risky, especially as audiences have grown to love the characters from The Avengers so much. It will be interesting to see how comic characters like Dr. Strange will be received by Marvel Cinematic Universe fans.

Might the 2017 one be Black Panther? We've heard lots of times that that's moving towards production.
