Just like the Kenneth Branagh-directed live-action Cinderella and the Angelina Jolie-starring Maleficent (and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland before that), it looks like another beloved Disney animated classic is getting the live action treatment:
The film reportedly has Justin Marks (The Raven) as a writer and is looking for a director to move forward, according to HeatVision. The new revision of the book will focus on the orphan boy Mowgli as he is raised by wild animals in the Indian Jungle. There have been live-action remakes in the past (including an existing 1994 Disney version), but none have been anywhere near as successful as the 1967 animated classic. It will be interesting to see how similar - if at all - the live-action retelling will be to that film.
