The Russo Brothers to Direct 'Avengers: Infinity War'

We've heard for some time that Joss Whedon would not be at the helm of the next Avengers movies. Well, this looks to be confirmed, as Badass Digest claims the Russo brothers will take the reins of Marvel's biggest franchise.

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of the acclaimed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War are apparently Marvel's choice to direct Avengers: Infinity War - Part I and Part II.

Civil War, which begins shooting very soon, should provide a good rehearsal for the brothers before they take on Infinity War. Indeed, the third film in the Captain America series has often been described as an Avengers 2.5 due to the high number of recurring MCU characters it will feature.

Given the work they did on The Winter Soldier, it's difficult not to be excited for Avengers: Infinity War - if you weren't already.
Part I is scheduled for a 27th April (UK) / 4th May (US), 2018 opening ; Part II will be released on the 26th April (UK) / 3rd May (US), 2019.
