What might be the last movie ever (hopefully not!) from Studio Ghibli, When Marnie Was There, is coming to English-speaking countries soon; so it's only logical that the English voice cast for the film was revealed. And it was today by Deadline.
And what a voice cast it is. As often with Ghibli films when they are released in the US, the people lending their voices are an impressive selection of renowned actors; joining the dubbed version of When Marnie Was There are: Hailee Steinfeld (as the main character), John C. Reilly, Vanessa Williams, Geena Davis, Kathy Bates, Ellen Burstyn, Catherine O’Hara, Kiernan Shipka, Grey Griffin, Ava Acres and Raini Roodriguez.
When Marnie Was There is directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty). GKids will help release the film in the US, with a restricted release on 22nd May in New York and Los Angeles and before a wider opening in the following weeks. The UK release date is yet unknown.
