Israeli blog Mako Cinemascope debuted some pictures of an animated film based on Anne Frank's diary; it's currently being developed by Ari Folman (Waltz With Bashir). These images are coming from tests which will hopefully help the film find some financial backing.
As you can see, different techniques are being used, including traditionally animated characters evolving on a stop motion set. Andy Gent - a puppetmaker whose credits include Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox, Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie - is working with Folman on the project.

The film will be an adaptation of the diary written by Anne Frank in Amsterdam during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II; but it will also be more than that, as evidenced by some of the pictures featuring Kitty, Anne Frank's imaginary friend, as well as some hallucination scenes.
More pictures can be seen at Mako Cinemascope.
