See Some Tests for an Upcoming Anne Frank Movie
Israeli blog Mako Cinemascope debuted some pictures of an animated film based on Anne Frank's diary; it's currently being developed by Ari Folman (Waltz With Bashir). These images are coming from tests which will hopefully help the film find some financial backing.

Here We Go Again: Disney Now Wants a Live Action Mulan
This whole live action remake trend started with Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in 2010, and since then we got Maleficent and Cinderella, with a lot more are coming our way: The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, Beauty and the Beast and Dumbo. You can now add Mulan to the list. Yup, Disney is remaking another one of its classic animated film as a live action movie.

Watch: 'Khalil Gibran's The Prophet' Trailer
First shown at the 2014 Cannes Festival, The Prophet is based on a book of poetry essays written by Lebanese writer Kahlil Gibran. It tells the story of a man - the prophet - who is leaving the city where he has lived for 12 years and is about to board a ship which will bring him home; The Prophet is also a series of observations on life, love, religion, good and evil, and death… Watch the trailer below.

1966 Batman to Become an Animated Feature
This sounds like an early April Fool's joke and yet it looks like it's really happening; Adam West and Burt Ward, (respectively the Batman and Robin of the 1966 TV Series) will lend their voices to the dynamic duo for an upcoming feature-length animated film. Drew Pearce and Jason Segel to Write/Direct a LEGO Movie Spin-Off
The Hollywood Reporter just revealed that yet another LEGO movie is on the way. It's not The LEGO Movie Sequel (directed by Rob Schrab and scheduled for 2018). It's not The LEGO Batman Movie either (helmed by Chris McKay and set for a 2017 release). It's not even Ninjago (with Charlie Bean in the director's chair and opening next year). The new spin-off is called The Billion Brick Race and will be co-written/directed by Jason Segel and Drew Pearce.

Watch: 'Astroboy Reboot' Gets a Teaser
Astro Boy was first the hero of a manga created in 1952 by Osamu Tezuka, but soon became the star of a popular anime series. The character has been through a lot of iterations and re-imaginations, including a CG movie in 2009.
Now he is back on television with a series of 26-minute episodes called Astroboy Reboot, and the first teaser is just below.

'Beauty and the Beast' Release Date and More
Details about Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast are starting to pile up, as more cast members, some informations about the score and a release date have been announced. And the more news we get on this film, the more it sounds like Disney is making the same movie as the 1991 animated feature.

Winter is Coming Again: 'Frozen 2' Confirmed
You knew it was coming. Even with the recent denial of the original film directors, there was never any doubt that a sequel to the massive success that was Frozen would arrive one day - and it will arrive sooner than you would've thought. It was confirmed today that Frozen 2 is indeed in development at the Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Tron 3 is Happening
VanCity Buzz first reported that a sequel to the 2010 Disney film Tron Legacy would be shooting in Vancouver this upcoming fall. According to the Canadian website, Garrett Hedlund will return as Sam Flynn; and Badass Digest dug a little deeper and revealed that the director of Tron Legacy Joseph Kosinski would also be back.

Tim Burton is Directing the Live-Action Dumbo
It seems like our worst fears are about to come true, as Disney is going forward with their idea of a Dumbo remake; indeed, The Wall Street Journal reports that Tim Burton (Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Frankenweenie…) has been chosen by Disney to direct the live-action/CG hybrid.

Stitch Kingdom noticed that a Variety post called '10 Animators to Watch' spilled the beans on some upcoming Pixar projects; the animator to watch in Pixar seems to be Josh Cooley, as he apparently just finished directing a short film set in the world of Inside Out, and will be co-director on Toy Story 4.

The Sam Simon Foundation announced earlier today via its facebook page that Sam Simon, best known for having developed The Simpsons and recipient of nine Emmy Awards passed away. He was 59.

'LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales' Awakens on Disney XD
Disney XD seems to be firing on all cylinders these days. After they announced a DuckTales reboot last week, it was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that the channel will also launch a new LEGO series based on the Star Wars universe.
